Welcome to my Rishworth

Family History Website.

This site is dedicated to the research of the Rishworth surname.  If you have a Rishworth relative you may well find a link through the records gathered through my own research.  Much of this information has been gathered from other people’s earlier research and information on websites.

Construction of this website commenced late February 2012 and will be continued during the coming weeks and months.  With genealogy there is no end point.  It is intended that the information will be restricted to the Rishworth name although in some case reference may be made to Rushworth or some other derivative.  As such it cannot be described as a One Family research because this would require all derivatives to be included – this would be beyond my capacity.

Initially the website will contain information about the descent from William de Rishworth to me, described under Origins.

If you have Rishworth entries in your family I would love to hear about them, a family tree, copies or certificates or just family tales.

The Coat of Arms presented here is a family “heirloom” which has descended to myself and is painted on wood in a wooden frame.  It has been assessed by art historians to have been produced about three centuries ago.  There are other Coats of Arms attributed to the Rishworth family but this is the one directly linked to me.

There may be differences from my records to those held by you.  If that is the case I would be pleased to hear about them.

This is being updated on 1st April 2012.  It is no joke but the information was all deleted yesterday by someone working under my authority.   As information is being restored some discrepancies are being corrected.  Various photos and tree diagrams also require to be restored.
